The PT-P700 is an easy-to-use, full-featured label maker. It's perfect for multi-user offices looking for simple connectivity and the ability to quickly create a wide variety of professional labels using a computer. Although it's great for individual label printing, it's particularly well-suited to multi-label printing, thanks to its fast print speeds, "repeat printing" capability, and an automatic cutter. And since no software or driver installation is required, it's great for sharing, or in restrictive IT environments.
Brother P-Touch PT-P700 - label printer - monochrome - thermal transfer is rated4.46 out of5 by61.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Macintosh CompatibilityThis product does not work well with OSX 10.9. The desktop application does not install properly and the P-Touch Lite software is awful and does not compare with the PC version i.e. totally deficient. Keeps losing contact with printer. Do not recommend for Macintosh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Investment for LabelsMy daughter is starting school soon and this label printer is the best labeler I foundYou can print any type of labels using many different fonts and font sizes and you can even insert images and picturesI tried many other ones but this is the oneThe only down side is that the labels aren't cheap, Other than that it does the job pretty good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tape Waster!Every time I print a label it first waste one inch of tape to insure that Brother can sell you more tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother P-Touch PT-P700This appear to be basic low-end economy model of PTouch machine. Like the old model, PT-1500PC, much better, until it stopped working. This model's software seems confusing. Just wanted a label maker that connects to my PC. I feel this model is less "user friendly". And it wastes 1/2' to 3/4" of tape each printing (cuts off that much tape before the actual printed label is produced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to useI love that it doesn't take up a lot of room on my desk. The software is easy to use and I can use my own clipart images. Another great Brother product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PT-P700 printerMy only issue is that it is kind of complicated when i am changing size of labels. I.E. from an address label to an insurance individual file label. goinng from 1/2 inch to 1 inch several times in an afternoon. this one is home use, i have a double label sized in office. it is set up of address label as well as return label

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice mechineThis did work great, was easy to setup and print the first label. Small design problem was that the computer cable is to short too reach from the top on my desk to the back of the computer tower, would be nicer if it were 2 feet longer. After I used it a few times the software was lost. The desktop short cut could not find the program. The tech thinks that the software was in a buffer and not downloaded into a folder. It worked for a few days until the it was pushed out of the buffer. We needed to reload the software a 2nd time and make sure that it was in a subfolder. This did not work well, it kept connecting to one of the other drivers for standard printers. It took a few tries to get it to connect to the right driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Generally GoodOVERALLWe generally like the p-touch, enough so that I have talked clients into buying one. It can produce good looking, easy to read, clear labels. If you need to print the kinds of labels that this will print, it ought to be on your short list of candidates. The unit is intended to be portable and it does have the ability to run from batteries. We have taken it with us to client sites, but have always powered it from AC instead of batteries.THINGS THAT COULD BE BETTERGetting SoftwareGetting software for this unit from Brother’s WEB site is a bigger pain than it ought to be. Why make us jump through hoop just to get the software? The process makes it harder to convince someone else to buy it, when they watch how much work it is to get the software so you can demo it.Ability To Set MarginsOften we find the margins are just too big. But there doesn’t seem to be any way to set smaller margins. It would be nice if the ability to set the margins were a feature of the software.Better User InterfaceThe Software has a lot of features, but one often finds that it isn’t obvious how to accomplish what you want to do.Ability to Do Larger LabelsOften we wish for a unit that could do wider labels. Brother does make some, but they are noticeably more $$$ and not Macintosh compatible.
