Little did I know that the good old days of removing a couple screws and a panel gained you access to the memory slots. A lot of disassembly was required to install this memory card. Got it in and no extra screws left over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inspiron memory upgrade 8 RAM of memory is great but install on the Inspiron is a major hassle- taking out all kinds of screws on both sides, removing cd rom, removing keyboard, prying apart pieces- other models looked so easy to simply remove a panel on the bottom.

Installing the memory upgrade was pretty straight-forward, if a bit involved for a non-techie like me. Everything went fine, and computer is running great with memory upgrade, if not as dramatically different as I imagined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgraded from 4GB to 8GB -> critical! Original system was only 4GB 2400Mhz and was struggling due to the OS swapping to drive constantly. The 8GB part works fine with no issues, however it wasn't a perfect experience. Given that Dell knew the exact system I was buying the RAM they could have easily identified that this couldn't be used with the existing 4GB and the 4GB had to be removed. Additionally the time to video was much much longer than the 4GB, so I thought the DIMM was bad for 2 hours while I was trouble shooting the situation that I couldn't be mixed and took much longer to get to video. The lack of LED or other indicator that it was booting normally while it ran its DDR check was very silly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Added Memory The Dell Memory worked perfectly where a cheaper well known brand that was supposed to be the same compatible part failed. My computer is humming along now with more memory. Installation was very easy. Watch the You Tube Video, anyone can do it.
