My typing on that was so bad I thought I'd forgotten how to type. The Preferred Pro II has a proper feel, layout, key stroke, dished key caps, and feedback for touch typing. Put off buy for quite a while after the Lenovo Product Specialist said it wasn't compatible with my Lenovo LEGION T5 28IMB05. Took a chance after not finding another keyboard I liked and indeed it works fine. I will probably buy a couple more to ensure I have access to a decent keyboard for the foreseeable future.

However, you would need to rest your hand a bit higher if you don't want your thumb hurts from the spacebar (I guess the intended design is in an office cubicle where the keyboard is lower than your wrist rest). Otherwise, it is very comfortable and feels great to type

A terrible typing experience, with lots of two keys being pushed issues. I would send it back but the return shipping charges would probably be 2/3 of what I paid for it on sale in the first place. I love the typing experience on my T490 laptop and I was hoping to get that in an external keyboard so I can use my docking station.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Responsive, quiet keyboard for work The old keyboard I inherited at work was almost flat on the desk (even with feet raised) and had very tight keys making it hard to type quickly and accurately. The Lenovo Preferred Pro II has a little bigger footprint than I was expecting, but the lift is higher which works much better with the desk I have and they keys are a lot smoother to type on with responsive keys more like what I wanted. I still prefer my mechanical keyboard I use at home, but the noise can bother others in a work setting and this keyboard is much closer to what I'm used to with my mechanical keyboard without the sound. This is a huge improvement over the old one that I initially was given (I believe it's an old Dell).

The keys are quiet yet responsive, and the expanded layout makes it much easier to use the number pad and function keys. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional basic board, poor key durability May 1, 2022: Purchased this from Lenovo in Jan 2022. Plug and play, easy, works well. Daily office use with about 2-3 aggregate hours of typing per day. Only drawback - and it is a big one for us - the white key letter identity (e.g., 'D' for D/d, 'C' for C/c, etc.) is already wearing off. Yes, it is as if we took an eraser and rubbed the letter identifier off the actual key. Functionally, board still works. Unfortunately, the 'look'/aesthetic of the board is not up to par, and those who do not now how to touch-type must use a process of elimination to determine what letter a blank key represents. This board now looks like it is multi-years old. We replaced a 15 year old Microsoft keyboard because the key identifiers began to wear off - this Lenovo keyboard now looks as bad aesthetically as that board did after more than a decade. No excuse - use some more durable paint/coating Lenovo! May be worth the current 'sale' price, but at original/full retail which is what we paid it is not worth the price.

I have connected it to the Lenovo Thinkpad laptop via the USB port and have been using it daily for work. This is a very basic keyboard with no multi-media controls. The keys feel mechanical with a decent key-travel. It is not the nosiest keyboard but it is isn't silent either. Since I am working from home, the sound does not bother me much. One thing that I should point out is that the keyboard feet are made of plastic and do not have rubber pads. This means that on a regular surface the keyboard can skid around. I have placed the keyboard on a gaming mouse pad (i.e. XXL ones) so now the keyboard does not skid around unless I want to.

It woks be ideal if this was available as a wireless. I was a bit bummed about the delay in shipping, it took about 3.5 weeks from ordering to come in. But nonetheless I was pleasantly surprised it had the exact feel I wanted. Fat/high buttons with a soft sound (not mechanical sounding). Thank you!

The first one I received had a problem with its space bar sticking down and not popping back up. I returned that keyboard and requested a replacement. The replacement came quickly and works as expected. However, the space bar is excessively loud as noted by some others. None of the other keys have that problem.

I recently began a new job that provided this keyboard and as soon as I used it I knew I had to have it for my home use! (I am a full time student who is in a degree that requires a large amount of writing.) The keys have a good amount of travel and a very satisfying touch response, with just the right amount of noise, not too loud at all for a mechanical keyboard. I can use this for hours and hours and not feel uncomfortable! HIGHLY recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from keyboard for a lot of use There are darn few wired keyboards (PS/2 or USB) remaining with a full stroke length and the PROPER key layout. No, I don't want chiclet keys -- I actually touch-type. I type a LOT. I need a keyboard that is accurate, has good rollover support (if you don't type quickly by touch you don't understand why this matters) and I want a WIRED keyboard because the latency on the wireless ones drives me insane. DELL used to have some good ones, but no more. This appears to fit the bill. So far, so good -- I did just get it, so only four stars since I can't yet speak to reliability, but in terms of the "N" key feature it's there or I'd know it INSTANTLY, and the layout and stroke is good. This is a rubber dome, rather than clicky-ratchet switch keyboard. If you're a hard-core keyboardist you understand the difference -- but unfortunately, the cherry ratchet-style switches are simply not found anymore unless you get into the specialty market (think the original IBM PC keyboards.) Then again the ratchet switches are LOUD; these are not. It's a flat layout rather than cupped or curved. Curved won't work with my desk which has a palm rest on the keyboard drawer already; I'd love to find a cupped unit, but they are unobtanium; nobody makes them any more. Oh well. Nonetheless the feel is good, the stroke is full and standard and the cord is blessedly long enough to reach, without an extension, a PC on a desk (through the back or a wiring channel) and maybe on the floor next to you. That's a nice touch too -- most wired USB keyboards have woefully short cords, and even some PS/2 style ones do as well. For the money this is impossible to beat if you want a real keyboard with a standard layout and all full-size, real full-travel keys. I'm sticking another one in my closet in case these wind up no longer available.

I personally find the wrist rest to be a bit awkward and would probably prefer it not be there. Also, as noted in other reviews, the keyboard is quiet, with the exception of the space bar, which is noisy. The keys themselves, however, have a very nice feel to them, are nicely sized and spaced, and are not wobbly. The build quality is very good compared to others that I have seen and owned. This includes the USB cord which is somewhat thicker than others I've seen. Would definitely buy again.

The build is fine, stable. Just wish it had a better feel. The keys feel mushy. But since the only keyboards you can buy right now are for gamers, having a keyboard for people who work and not play for a living is refreshing. For the price, it's okay.

Great soft yet tactile feel (especially considering it's a rubber dome keyboard, extremely quiet, moderate touch (on the light side but not as light as a Cherry MX Red), excellent keycap feel that helps your fingers type accurately. Love it. And a great price. Purchased direct from Lenovo, on sale.

I had my last one for 5 years, no problem until I spilled wine on it (shame, shame on me). Re-ordering was a breeze and the price is reasonable. Go for it!

Don't believe me? I was recently surprised to learn that Joe Rogan loves the feel of a Lenovo keyboard. Claims it makes you a better typist. Less errors. The Preferred Pro ll has that silky smooth feel with a positive stop that signals a good strike. Once you try it you won't use anything else.

Forgot how nice it is to have fresh new keyboard. This one has a slightly smaller footprint than the old one as well which comes in handy for my smaller desk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Keyboard As described durable and reliable keyboard replacing an HP wireless keyboard that came with a recent computer purchase. Glad to get rid of it. This keyboard has everything needed for the normal day to day use of your computer world. I am not a gamer so could not speak to that use. Only one con would be the palm rest which is slightly higher and may to some be uncomfortable when resting your hands. A fix is needed to give this 5 stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got what I expected For starters, it's just a keyboard. That said, it was plug and play and good to go. Keys are responsive and not terribly loud. Layout is intuitive and there are no unexpected key placement changes. Basically, it works and feels solid/quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Advantage of a true full keyboard I am happy to have a keyboard again that provides Windows keys on both sides of the keyboard. I use the key for many shortcuts, and, not being a true touch typist, I found it awkward to use a keyboard that had it only on the left. This keyboard has what is for me a good depth and concave surface to the keys. I can feel when I make a mistake by having my finger slightly off-center and it works for my typing speed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great reliable wired keyboard Bought this keyboard over a year ago and it is exactly what I needed. Durable, reliable, and satisfying to type on. Keep in mind this a wired keyboard, although the wire for it is quite long, which is very convenient. The keyboard also has a fully functioning number pad, a feature that many keyboards lack these days. Overall, a very good choice for a full function wired keyboard.
