Rated 5 out of 5 by from Logitech Wireless Keyboard...Again! I have had multiple versions of this (same) keyboard for years. Logitech seems to reinvent it and give it different numbers and/or package it in a combo with a different wireless mouse. But not much changes. The biggest and best improvement is the back-lighting. The keyboard really doesn't hold a charge for more than a few days to a week with constant daily use. I'm not inclined to shut if off everyday when I leave my desk, and that may be part of the issue. Still, it's tactile enough to not feel mushy and not so tactile that you hear it clacking as you stab at the keys. It's just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problems after 2 weeks Had to send it back after 2 weeks. The illumination increase and decrease keys stopped working and the battery status key also stopped working. The 4 (F) keys that handle this are together so I think whatever controlled them failed..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from K800 and Linux Hey all, here is a quick review for the above mentioned product. I love the keyboard, feels great, soft and the lights help a lot for all times of day. The only issue I had was setting it up in Linux. I am running Ubuntu and in order for it to work I had to first connect it though my Win7 machine, then restart and then Linux picked it up. I almost returned it. So, if you do not have Windows, you may have an issue with the Unifying Receiver. The only con of the device is that sometimes i have to tap it for the lights to go on or I'm hitting the first key in the dark before typing. Either that or wave your hand over it, which is pretty cool anyway. Great for gaming at night time!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Keyboard!!!! I've had this keyboard for over 3 years now. No issues, just like the Energizer bunny...it just goes and goes and goes. Treat your gear well, it will last. This is a testament to that. Would love a keyboard mouse combo though.

Nice, solid feel to the keys, smooth typing...The only thing I would like to see different is to have the illumination auto shut off stay on a bit longer. Even with that, it's a great product I've enjoyed for many hours and still going strong!

It "senses" your hand approaching and then the backlights come on (this saves a lot of energy). The "unifying" remote works for this and my Logitech mouse. Logitech support is great. I had a small problem (one loose key) with another brand new Logitech keyboard a while back (a K750 on another comptuer) and could not get support/exchange from the vendor (not Dell) and Logitech support stepped up and replaced the entire keyboard! I would buy this again in a heartbeat (same with the solar-powered K750).

One of the best features is the ease of use in low lighting situations without any eye strain. It's designed for comfort in every way possible. The price is much less then other brands offering similar features. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who spends a lot of time on there computer and wants to have the best of components in there home or business system.

I went without for months, when my last external keyboard finally breathed it's last...kept hoping that it would start up again. Finally browsed the Dell website and found just what I needed! The keys are comfortable and the back lighting is just awesome! I mention, how much 'I Love My New Keyboard' at least once a day to anyone within earshot! Cons The only one that I can think of is 'Why did I wait so long to replace my old one?'

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to last forever. I have had this exact keyboard since 2010. Almost 8 years now and it still works great. It has never given me any problems. As with others posting reviews, the only improvement would have been keeping the backlight lit for longer then shutting down in less than 3 seconds (as soon as your fingers are removed from the keys). The battery storage isn't as strong as when I first purchased it, but a full charge will last about two weeks (6+ hours, daily use) during a single charge. This keyboard continues to fully charge pretty quick. I'm very impressed with this product and I will definitely get another one if and when this one dies out. This is definitely a quality keyboard.

Inquired with local stores only for them to either have a blank stare or direct me to a gaming keyboard that looked like belong in a flight simulator. Sleek and professional looking keyboard. Rated 5 out of 5 by from unimpressive product this keyboard is useful because it is wireless, but the illumination is only so so . . . dims when fingers are not over keyboard. It should have an always on feature. Also, I would prefer completly lit keys and not just the letters and numbers. Typing space is ok, but not spectacular. Would like to use more, but desktop I purchased from Dell less than 2 years ago is not functioning. Won't turn on for some reason and Dell will only assist if I pay for support, so can't do further work with product.

It works great and lights up only when your hand is just above the keyboard, saving on battery usage. I have had this keyboard for a couple weeks now and fully charged it when I got it, even though it was almost fully charged. I have not needed to charge it since. I am always on my computer so the battery usage on this keyboard is more than satifactory. Super easy to set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best One Yet Finding it very difficult to say anything bad about the Logitech K800 wireless keyboard. I've had a lot of wired keyboards and this is my first wireless. I was even impressed by the packaging. Very well planned, and secure within the container. The keyboard is solid, nice materials, responsive, and smooth when typing. I bought this one primarily for the backlit keys and overall quality that Logitech puts into it's products. So far it hasn't disappointed me at all. I'm very happy with this purchase. I also bought a Logitech wireless mouse which can work off the same USB transmitter as the keyboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Logitech Loser I have continuous problems staying connected to my Dell Precision laptop that sits just three feet away from my Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard 800. Some times none of the number keys respond. Some times none of the keys on the keyboard respond. I also have a Logitech MX Anywhere 2 wireless mouse and it does not consistent respond to my laptop. This is very frustrating !

I keep buying them over and over because I find they are the best out there at this time. They don't seem to last very long for me. I get about a year or so if I'm lucky out of them. Either the keys fall off or they don't hold a charge like they did when I got them. All is all, I do love them. Typing is quick and pretty quiet and I love the illumination.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Logitek K800 Keyboard I am pleased with this keyboard with one exception. It seems to have more 'bounce' than the hard-wired keyboard which came with my computer. Perhaps I need a lighter touch than that required for the prior keyboard. I got the hot keys programmed and they work properly. I especially like the ability to work in the dark - no monitor glare. Would I recommend this. Yes, but you will have to adjust how you strike the keys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST KEYBOARD YET! I got my first computer in 1990 so I have gone through many keyboards and mice. This is the best keyboard that I have ever owned. The feel of the keys is different than all my others. This is not a toy with plastic clacking, it's a man's keyboard..OK I suppose a lady might like it too. I am a night- owl and I don't like to keep a lot of lights on when I am working on the pc late at night so the illuminated feature is made for me. The really odd thing is that I contacted a store that sells Logitech Products and I asked about an illuminated keyboard. I was told that the batteries would wear out and I would be buying them by the gross so they don't sell any. I searched HP and sure enough they had a rechargable illuminated keyboard! Shouldn't everyone know about a great product like this. If you are thinking about a new keyboard, don't hesitate, just buy this one and you won't be sorry. The light comes on by sensing your hands being near. The light adjusts to the ambient light in the room. The keyboard is also silent as you type. You can type in a completely dark room if you want. I enter online sweepstakes for a hobby so I use my keyboard a lot. You will love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I was using a laptop with an external monitor and the keyboard was the laptop. This meant that I had my head positioned to one side all day while I spent most of my time looking. My chiroprator visits started to increase, so I ditched the 20" monitor, got a sweet new 25" monitor and this keyboard and moved the laptop off my desk. Now my body is positioned good for hours of software development work. Why I'm happy: 1) Hate cords, love wireless where it makes sense 2) Love the feature that allows you to recharge your keyboard from USB. I've gone a month without recharging 3) Love the backlit keyboard that senses when your hands are near. I prefer a dark lit room to work in. 4) Love that the front edge slants nicely into your table top, so you don't need a wrist pad.

Checked with the Logitech folks and they ran me through the motions to confirm it was dead then anknowledged sometimes this happens! Disappointing quality control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runaway Keyboard The new K800 wireless, backlit keyboard is great looking and has a good fairly good typing feel (it DOES require a positive stroke -- not as light as I expected), but on my XP SP3 Dell system, it has a totally annoying habit of frequently (like every 50 strokes or so) of running away with a letter. And once it starts it is hard to stop. It also will switch to Overtype mode on it's own. I'm not a touch typist, and have to look at the keys to type, and it is really aggravating to lose already-typed text when trying to insert new text. The keyboard is now in its box, awaiting a call to Logitech.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Wanted in a Keyboard Two things bothered me about my old keyboard: 1. The cord often got in the way. 2. I never took Typing class in high school, thus I have to look at the keyboard when I type. Unfortunately, in my office, I had a hard time seeing the keys on my old keyboard later in the day. Yes, I would turn on my desk lamp for more light; however, the glare from the lamp off the keys did not help the situation. I had to lean my head to one side to to avoid the glare. I drove on despite both problems. Neither were so bad that I cared that much. Then I received the Logitech K800 Keyboard - Wireless as a gift. No more cord. It does not limit how I use my desk space and now I can put the keyboard anywhere when I am not using it -- in a cabinet drawer or on its side on a bookshelf! The keyboard recharges via a USB cord, thus it is corded while recharging, but I do that overnight. I do not know how long the battery retains its charge, but it's now early February and I've only had to recharge it once since late December...and I use it practically all day, every day. No more problems with low light. I simply wave my hand over the keyboard and the backlit keys light up. The first time I experienced that feature: "WOW!" The coolness factor is high. Now I do not need to turn on the light if I am not inclined to do so. I've encountered a two things in life that I did not know I needed until I actually had them: One was prescription sunglasses and the other is this keyboard. Another unexpected nice thing about this keyboard is how thin it is. I did not really need it to be thin, but it is. Its lack of bulk helps with stashing it away when I am not using it. Also, it tapers down to practically nothing on the front edge which seems very ergonomical. I submit this review willingly and without any prompting either from HP or Logitech. I am just a project manager whose appreciates a terrific tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, thin, and perfect for a traveler I purchased this keyboard as a replacement for my Logitech MK710 wireless keyboard and I am very pleased with the K800. The backlit keys add a nice ambiance when I am working in dark areas and the fact that the keyboard operates wirelessly and recharges via USB is also a plus. A single charge gets me about 2 months of usability on a 60-70 hr work week.

It was fine when I first got it... then after about a week, not a lighted keyboard anymore (and yes, I turned it off when I wasn't using it).... can hardly see it even in a well-lit room because the lettering is so light VERY expensive.. and awful.
