Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great soundI bought these headphones after watching reviews from Unboxed Therapy, Jim’s Review Room, MKBHD, and dew others on YouTube. These headphones are comfortable music sounds great. Bass is very nice not too punchy or distorted. They highs could be a little sharper but are still good. Not much lag with video on YouTube or Netflix. Downloaded videos on my iPhone 7 sound amazing. I’m looking forward hearing them when I fly in few weeks. I think the app is good much better than Bose. It could use some work but it’s a step in right direction. I love having the control of the equalizer built in the app. The different surround settings are great would be nice to see a movie setting. I’m very happy with these headphones. One thing on the next model adding IP67 rating would be great add.

Took them home and tried them on. All ambient noise just disappeared. The NC doesn’t even have pressure on the ears. Music comes through so clear as well. And they’re reasonably weighted. You barely feel them when you put them on. Highly recommended to make this purchase.

I gave them a listen in the airport gadget shop and they indeed sounded better that the others I tried, like the new BOSE headphones. But honestly, I was blown away when I turned them on in the airplane. Wow! Seriously, mind blown.

The design, simplicity, and the sound quality was what sold me- wonderful noise canceling, noticed as soon as putting them on. The comfort is amazing, no pressure from the headband or around the ears. The bluetooth capability could improve allowing switching from a phone to a computer without getting into the settings on one device to disconnect.

I tried the QC35 and they can not compete with Sony in the sound department. Bose sounds muddy with bass overpowering everything whereas Sony sounds clean with punchy bass. However, XM3 have some obvious rooms for improvement.1. Cold weather touch controls: touch controls will behave erratically. You are better off avoiding using this outdoors in winter2. Multi-Device Connection: still only connects to 1 device. You need to disconnect from your first device before the headphone connects to another.3. Cracking noise: the headband around the headphone hinges makes cracking sounds. This can signal problems in long term longevity.4. Adaptable sound control: Reaction time is slow and requires location service at all times which drains phone battery. I only used it once. Seems like an unnecessary feature that don't add much value.In other words, Sony will need to solve some of these problems if they want to sit comfortably on the noise cancelling throne. If competitors can improve their sound (Bose) or improve their noise cancelling (Audio Technica, AKG, Sennheiser), Sony might be in trouble.

Right out of the box flew across country and had 50% battery life after landing.Just paired it to my gaming PC to see how it compared to my high end gaming cans, and it is top notch, WITH the added bonus of cancelling out background sounds like a small fan type heater running, or the dang PC itself!Cant recommend enough.Great work Sony.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disconnects every time I switch from PS4 to PC.Because, unlike Bose QC35, Sony WH-1000XM3, disconnect everytime I switch from PS4 to Computer mode and I have to manually set up as the default sound output device. With Bose QC35, they were automatically switched to be the default device and I did not have to mnaully set them to be the default sound output device EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Sony Wireless Noise Canceling headphones are PERFECT! It cancels out unwanted noise, I can ask Google to do things, I can talk on the phone and they are so comfortable over the ear. I love my new headphones!

I cannot explain the wonderful features these headphones have but to sum it up, if you cover the right side of the headphone with your hand it mutes the audio and turns into a loud microphone incase someone was trying to gain your attention. Seriously though, If you want a good birthday present or a present in general to impress your significant other with, this is definitely the purchase.

(My husband bought them for me as a surprise.) He said he had researched all the major brand reviews and these were the absolute best. I completely agree! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. (Also, I very rarely take valuable time from my busy life to post reviews. This product was worth the time!)

Brilliant noise reduction and crystal clarity for sound. Reduced stress from discordant or constant noise enormously. Highly recommend.

They are not sleek/slim by any means, however the XM3s provide the comfort, sturdiness, and attractive design that many want in headphones nowadays. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase, and can see myself grabbing the new 700 series to compare the two. Thanks, Sony!
