The pictures I saw on line shows that the keyboard can be used freestanding with the screen propped up. In fact, there is no way to prop up the screen when it is not attached to the cover.

The keyboard is amazing as it turns your iPad into a mine computer allowing me to quickly type answers to emails, chats, and texting. Additionally, I have used this in class to take notes allowing me to capture much more than my handwritten notes would record.

The free standing ability to be able to have my iPad on my lap and type away with my screen at any angle is by far one of the best features . Also I have not charged it since I plugged it in. If you are looking for a keyboard for your Ipad that is durable fast reliable and worth the money. BUY THIS. This made my iPad feel so much like a laptop I found myself going for a trackpad often. However the able to type , and then use my finger on the iPad for manual control makes my iPad a two in one laptop!Amazing product and would absolutely recommend.

I can't wait for a traditional device to boot so the iPad is the way to go. This case w keyboard works amazing! It also helps display cut sheets and pictures / ideas to clients by flipping the keyboard to the back! Way to go ZAGG!!!!
